I was able to capture this unusual image in digital while looking into an old cast iron kettle on my deck early one morning in 2007. The bees seemed busy doing their days work in their fully formed comb of yellow jacket’s nest and didn’t seem bothered, not yet anyway, by my peering into their hive with my camera.
